Meet our July Guest Designer - Mazlina:-

I am Mazlina Md Yusoff, currently living in Melbourne, Australia. I started scrapbooking since 2009, and was hooked since! It is really a great hobby to splurge in. It can be pricey sometimes (most of the time) but the outcomes are just priceless. I love how I can cherished the memories and turn it into something beautiful. My DH, DS & DD are my inspiration. I love to play with colorful papers, especially bright ones and love all things nice like flowers, butterflies and bling- bling. Thank you Butterfly Crafts for having me as your Guest Designer for July :)

Meet our June Guest Designer - Mia

Please welcome our June Guest Designer Mia:-

I am Mia Montalvan-Castrillo from the Philippines. I have been married for 11 years to my college sweetheart and have 4 princesses ages 9, 7, 3 and 8 months. I am the manager of our family household and a contributing writer to a local newspaper in our city. In between cooking, writing, taking my girls to school and generally taking care of our household, I scrap. And I'm pretty addicted to it. :-)

I started fixing my pictures when I was in high school but got really serious into it in 2004 after the birth of my 2nd daughter. I lean towards clean and simple scrapping with strong journaling. I scrap as a way of communicating to my loved ones. Nothing is more fulfilling than a hug and an appreciated word from a loved one who has just read my layout's journaling. Scrapping is my form of relaxation after a busy day. I love the creative process --- choosing papers, looking for the right embellishments, thinking of my journaling. I am SOO addicted that I think of journaling and layouts in the shower, while breastfeeding, before sleeping, while changing diapers, while cooking, and in almost every spare time I have. I scrapbook because it is how I am able to express my love for my husband and children. I scrapbook because I am a storyteller and I love telling the stories of my children.

Photo Canvas

I have been looking to buy a photo canvas for so long, so after re-decorating my bedroom I thought I would treat myself.

After looking around I found a fantastic site called ‘Bags of Love’ they specialise in personalised gifts everything from personalised cards to photo canvas to floor cushions.

So I placed my order on a Friday night at 5pm and had my canvas in my hand by 8am Tuesday. I quickly ripped open the parcel and was over the moon with the canvas. It is so gorgeous, the colours are so bright and the image so clear. Here it is:-

It now has pride of place on my bedroom wall, so I would highly recommend ‘bags of love’ to everyone.

Meet Our May Guest Designer Leonie....

Hi, i’m Leonie Neal-Dawson and I live in Geelong, Australia. Along with my Husband, Greg and our 4 children, Will (10), Andrew (8), Hamish (8), and Maggie (6).

Weekdays I’m a SAHM and weekends I work night shift at the local hospital.

I started Scrapbooking when I was pregnant with the twins in 2003 . And truly I love everything about this craft, preserving our family’s memories, the creative outlet for me, meeting fabulous like minded people and in the past year or so I’ve discovered the online world of scrapping , blog challenges, forums etc. I think just about every day will find me doing something scrap related, if it’s not actually scrapping then it’s being online, taking or editing photo’s or all of the above. J

I’m not sure that I have any particular style, I like to try different techniques and generally I like to use mist, paint and masks on my Layouts. Well at the moment anyway! I tend to often also add some doodling or inking/distressing to the edges of photo’s or paper on my layouts.

Anyway here is my sample using the gorgeous picture as inspiration. I was inspired by the pink, yellow and black in the picture and I also tried to mimick the shape of the girls head piece with the masked hearts. And the flowers I made using this online tutorial
