Challenge 7.......

Hi Everyone, (I know this is a few hours early, but I have a busy day tomorrow so here goes) it's time for another challenge topic.

Create a lay-out using a favourite book as inspiration. Whether it be the title, cover photo, or colours - anything that inspires you. (Please let us know what book you have chosen.)

Please upload your LO's to our gallery, leave us a link in the comments or e-mail them to Butterflycrafts1@aol.com by 30th Mar.

This month we have a very special prize for the winner of our months challenges, a DT position!!!!! One of our DT member has had to leave us so we have an open spot and thought it would be a fun idea to give it away as this months prize.... This is how it will work - from all the lay-out we receive for the March challenges I will pick my fav 3 and then the DT will vote for their fav and the top Lay-out will win the DT position (for 3 months Apr- Jun 09)!!! We will also randomly pick a runner up who will become our April GD. Makes sense??? (If not please give us a shout.)

Here's what our fantastic DT came up with:
Nina

Journaling reads: As a stay-at-home mom to a 4-year-old, it's hard to find a moment to myself. Thankfully, there's scrapbooking and books which invite me to moments of solitude. "Journal of a Solitude" - title of my fave book written by May Sarton

Sarah

Book: The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston

Vicki

Santa Mouse is a favourite book in our family. It began when my brother received the book as a Christmas gift when he was a baby. Now, forty years later my daughter loves it as much as I do.

Please upload your LO's to our gallery, leave us a link in the comments or e-mail them to Butterflycrafts1@aol.com by 27th Feb to be in with a chance of becoming our March guest designer and this month the winner will also receive a AUS $20 gift Certificate from our February Sponsor 'Hybird Designs Scrapbooking' - Thanks Mel xx

Here's what our fantastic DT came up with:

Samantha

Michelle

If I collect anything, it's crime novels !Followed closely by crime DVD's and taped TV shows ! I don't really know why, but I love this genre !

Veronica

What do I collect? My collections range from James Dean and Star Wars memorabilia, to stamps, coins, and limited edition dolls. But I've decided to do a layout on my CD collection, which at last count came close to 1,000 pieces, ranging from classical to jazz to pop to rock. The photo shows only a handful from my stash, of which several are also signed by the artistes. The title is a quote from the Bard himself, William Shakespeare, who in his play Twelfth Night wrote: "If music be the food of love, play on."

Guest Designer - Fay

I decided to document my daughter's obession with collecting handbags. She has more than I do and I have been known to borrow one of her! I've tried to include lots of different textures - buttons, fabric, stitching, crocheted flowers, sequin waste and shelf lining - to reflect the handbag story.

We can't wait to see your creations.

Okay, I admit it. I'm a sucker for romance. I found these old ID photos and wanted to trace my obsession from Sweet Dreams to manga.

It may not be seen as cool but I'm a massive country music fan!!!!

Our Feb Guest Designer - Fay

I would like to introduce our February 'Butterfly Crafts Guest Designer' Fay:

Hi all, I'm Fay (aka Beautifullily) and I live in Leamington Spa, UK with my husband, 2 girls (aged 6 & 4) and 4 cats. I've been a stay at home mum for the past 6 years and have recently taken on a part-time working from home job. I've been scrapping for just over a year, so still feel that I'm still a relative newbie. I love searching out new challenges and am often taking on new projects. I can easily spend an evening blog hopping - I am amazed at all the fantastic inspiration that is out there. I am still finding a scrapping style that I feel most comfortable with, it evolves week by week! I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on Butterfly Crafts and being a part of this fabulous blog.

You will be able to see Fay's work in our 6th challenge which will be revelled on 15th Feb.
